This harrowing and compelling story told through the words of mothers Julie & Marilyn tell of their struggle to get their sons off heroin.
Against the backdrop of the 1990’s and uneducated about drugs, the story highlights that addiction can happen to the best of families.
We are three ordinary women from Swindon that united through personal tragedy to write our true story Tenacity.
After six years of hard work, we self- published, the book to begin with, then found a publisher, Guernica World Editions based in Canada that believed in us and our strong message. We have travelled the country carrying out book signings in local supermarkets and seminars.
Along the way we have met a lot of the general public and heard many harrowing stories about friends and family members going through this terrible ordeal of substance abuse. Our heart goes out to every single one of them.
If you have children or thinking of having them Tenacity is a must read and a deterrent against the growing drug epidemic that is sweeping our society.
We are self funding and carry out drug awareness talks to 13-14 year olds in schools. Due to the pandemic there has been a hold on this, however we are ready to resume a soon as possible, if any schools or parents would like to make a request.
